The pastry scraper is great for scooping diced and sliced vegetables and transferring from the cutting board to the pan, pot or serving bowl. Stainless steel is the best for this tool. Some of them are plastic, but plastic just can’t take the wear and tear that this tool gets. I keep one for each of the main cutting boards.
They are also good for their intended purpose (cutting and lifting dough from a surface). Pastry scrapers also clean/clear off crumbs and other food particles from counter surfaces and tablecloths.
